Can I use the Pathways CD-ROM Publisher with my existing database structures?

No. In order to use the Pathways CD-ROM Publisher software, you must first license the Pathways Database Publisher software. The CD-ROM Publisher software relies on the FoxPro database structures that are an integral part of the Database Publisher software.

Will the Software allow me to generate a CD-ROM that contains more than one of my directory products?

Yes. Publishers may place one or more directories on the same CD-ROM product. Each directory on the CD will be controlled separately. This will allow the publisher to develop a single CD-ROM product with the capability of restricting buyer's access to only those publications for which they have paid.

I understand that buyer's may add their own notes about companies to the information held on the CD-ROM. What happens to those notes when a new version of the CD-ROM is issued?

Any notes that have been added by the buyer will still be available when a new version of the CD-ROM is issued. Additionally, buyers may also "mark" companies that are important to them. These "marks" will also be retained when new versions are issued.

Can the CD-ROM directory include links to web pages?

Yes. CD-ROM products generated with the software will allow publishers to include hyperlinks to web pages as well as interface to email software. This capability allows publishers to include a direct link from directory listings on the CD-ROM to a web site associated with the listing. Readers may access the associated sites by simply clicking on an access button. When this occurs, the users default browser software will be initiated, and the web site will be accessed.
